Essie Clambake ♡ Bikini So Teeny (Review & Swatches)

Hello Ladies! I have recently had a liking for Essie polishes. I have always been a lover of Essie but I have been seeing a lot of their colors everywhere recently so it was time to go shopping.

 

I took both pictures WITHOUT Flash so you can see the true color using my iPhone which showed the color better than my DSLR

The first one up is called Bikini So Teeny from Essie's 2012 Summer Collection. 

I wanted a periwinkle color and was torn between this and Lapiz of Luxury. 

I ended up grabbing this as my choice. 

I was keep my fingers crossed but figured if I didn't like it, 

 I could exchange it. 

All I have to say is WOW! 

This color is amazing. 

It's the perfect periwinkle! 

I was also hesitant because this color has a little shimmer but it's 

so faint you can barely see it. I

If you guys do not own this you're missing out seriously. 

The application for this polish was pretty easy. 

It applies perfectly.

This pretty is called Clambake. It's a red-orange color and really creamy. Let me tell you about this color. I went to pick up Shake Your $$ Maker from Essie's 2013 Collection. At the register I had both polishes but decided NOT to get Clambake because I wanted a green instead. When I got home I realized the sales rep put the wrong color in my bag. The unfortunate thing is that the store is going out of business so there are NO returns or exchanges :( 

Even though Clambake is a pretty color, it is not what I originally wanted. The application for this polish was pretty easy. It applies equally as well as Bikini So Teeny.

My 1st ever GLAM BAG!

I've heard so many things about IPSY Glam Bag but was never really interested in getting. I have way too many cosmetics and beauty items so adding more to my collection not necessary. However when my friend showed me her November bag and explained how she loved the items I thought WHY NOT? 

It's a monthly subscription that only costs $10 a month (of course you can cancel at anytime). You get a mix of deluxe sample and full sized items in each bag. Here in my 1st bag I received:

 NYX Pearl Shadow in "Charcoal Pearl", Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in "Zero", Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes, Mai Couture highlight papier, and Be A Bombshell lip gloss in "Hot Mess" Everything comes in a cute zippered cosmetic bag that ironically reminds me of the NYX shadow I received this month.. 

This will look great over any red lipstick or stain.
I love it and it's not sticky at all!

You can see the shimmer on the paper 

Under my left eye I am wearing the highlight papier
(no product was used on my right eye)

Look at all the shimmer. Wow!

Zero glides on smoothly and it's a matte black just like I wanted
 Pearl Mania is perfect for the holidays and pretty pigmented

The item I was most excited about receiving was the UD 24/7 Glide on Pencil. I purchased their same pencil but in the color Pervusion which is an out of this world beyond black. I didn't know "Zero" existed and was a step down from the blackest black Pervusion which is why I wanted to try the shade but thought I'd just wait it out. Luckily for me I received it in my bag. Yay! 

Just to show you how good of a deal the $10 Glam Bag is I'm going to give you a break down of what each item sells for when purchased separately:

• NYX Pearl Shadow in "Charcoal Pearl" - $3
• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in "Zero"- $19 (full sized)
• Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes - $29
• Mai Couture highlight papier - $28 (50 sheets)
• Be A Bombshell lip gloss in "Hot Mess" - $14 (full sized)

The UD Pencil is half size in the bag so I received approximately $8 product. The highlight papier in the bag is only 25 sheets so that's about $14 worth of product (I love math, LOL) Even after calculating the actual sizes that I received, paying $10 for this bag is BEYOND a great deal! I am very happy that I decided to join when I did and cannot wait to see what next month has to offer ♡

Essie "Butler Please"

I was looking for a polish similar to Sally Hansen Pacific Blue and I came across this color. It's a beautiful blue and I was immediately drawn to the shade. I ran home to polish my nails and then that's when the disappointment hit. This polish was difficult to use. The consistency is a little sticky for me. It reminds me of Zoya's Charisma but not as bad(I haven't been able to apply Charisma yet!) The Essie color was just a little thick. I used Seche Vite as a base coat so I'm not sure why it gave me a difficult time. 

I purchased a few other others too. I will be trying those as well. Great colors huh?

BTW: This is my first post using my cell phone. I feel like I'm in Blog Happy Land. Lets the posts roll in :))

Update! I thought I grabbed my polishes for a really great deal at Walgreens. The bottle of Essie was $8 while the Maybelline bottles were $4.99 (I received 1/2 off the 2nd bottle). After going to Target today, they had the same bottles of Maybelline for $2.99 and the Essie was less than $8. After wearing the Essie today out and loving the color so much I have decided to keep that bottle and try a different base coat inside. The two bottles of Maybelline will be returned so I will not be getting a swatch of those colors unless I return to Target or grab them elsewhere for a great deal such as the one at Target :)

Essie Absolutely Shore Review

When I saw this color online, I was intrigued because it so unique and unlike any other polish I've seen or owned. At first glance, it reminds me of a white polish. After I received the polish, I noticed that it was a pale baby blue (sky blue), but at times it looks green also. Is it green or blue? Hmm! Maybe it's just me. IDK. 

Without Flash, this polish may look blue to some. As you guys know, I love when polishes can have different shades so I am sold regardless.

What are your thoughts on the color? 

Of course the quality is great because it's Essie. 

Essie is one of those brands that I love and will always love. 

The polish is so smooth and easy to apply. 

It's not too thick and not too thin. 

I am sure about Absolutely Shore!

Also, Essie describes the polish as a sea foam green.

Essie Winter Nail Polish Collection

Every month I have a new addiction. For the month of November, one of my addictions are Nail Polishes catered to the winter and holiday months.
I wanted to try a Holiday Nail Polish Set and decided to try Essie. One reason is because I found the set at a great price on eBay, the colors were non glitter which I hadn't found in any other collection, and I love Essie polish!

The mini polish collection came in a cute cube.  

The set includes from left to right:
Bangle Jangle (a pale lilac), Bobbing for Baubles (almost navy blue), Size Matters (a bright burgundy), and Cocktail Bling (a pale grey). 

The two colors to the far left look very similar, but they are not.

The polish farthest to the left is Cocktail Bling which is a pale grey.

The polish to the right of Cocktail Bling is Bangle Jangle which is actually a lilac color

Size Matters is a beautiful bright Burgundy

 Bobbing for Baubles appears to be a dark grey, but it is a dark blue with a hint of navy.

The only color I have worn so far is Cocktail Bling shown below. This is a cropped photo from my Naked review. The color is so beautiful and last for a few days without any touch ups.
